The Australian Bureau of Statistics has released a report on where Australians traveled in 2019.
Travel is up 2.2%, but departures are increasing at a decreasing rate having shown over 5% growth in the preceeding two years.
With COVID-19 virus still in the forefront of people’s minds, it will be difficult to maintaing these growth figures. This will be especially the case with China and other Asian countries such as Japan and India being key markets.
New Zealand is still the most popular country to visit. It was fighting off competition for the top spot, but the stressed market may see it still come out on top albeit with slight smaller figures.
