They hey day of the 1950s drive-in never withstood the march of cinematic technology and modern economics. Only a few remain today, but now they seem like a great idea.
As government restrictions are slowly relaxed, the drive-in is the perfect socially distant service and some cinema chains are taking advantage of this. With modern technology and friendly candy bar service, the drive-in should be revving up for a somewhat modest revival – at least for a year or so.
