With the arts sector going to governments for assistance during lockdowns artists themselves have had to be inventive in trying to makes ends meet.
Australian group, The DMAs have decided to take the hardworking approach.
The band have put on a punishing schedule of eighteen gigs in sixteen days – performing two gigs per night over nine nights.
Has it worked?
The gigs sold out in less than three days.
It’s a small step, but the success of this initiative hopefully augurs well for the arts sector to bounce back for an audience that wants to enjoy it.
