Rick Astley’s unstoppable meme machine, the song, Never Gonna Give You Up has reached the dizzying heights of having one billions views on YouTube.
The track was produced by the team Stock Aitken and Waterman who had a string of hits in the 1980s including Kylie Minogue and Bananarama. The producers had a very narrow sound and even if listeners weren’t hearing Astley they were probably hearing something else made by them.
Their success was making this bureau wonder if they were ever going to leave some space for the rest of the pop music world.
With a billion views and counting it looks like they are ever gonna say goodbye.
