In a follow up to a post last July, bureau favourite, Manic Street Preachers have reached number one in the UK album charts.

A number one is a number one, so congratulations to them, but this bureau wonders if the charts seemed to leaning a little too far on a formula that is going to favour legacy acts. This might be the case with albums at least although it can certainly happen with individual tracks as well.
It’s always a judgement call of course, but it is a surprise that dad rock stalwarts are hitting the top of the charts.
