Proving that there’s life in the story yet, a first edition of Mary Shelly’s novel Frankenstein sold at auction for $1.17m.
As there were only 500 copies made just over 200 years ago in its first run it’s no surprise that its attracted a premium price. The interest in the sale may even resurrect some interest in the book.
