The American Song Contest has started and the songs are coming thick and fast. Inspired by the Eurovision Song Contest, it will be hosted by the unlikely duo of Snoop Dogg and Kelly Clarkson.
While Eurovision’s schtick has always been that it’s so bad that it’s good, American music has a history of being more like good so it’s good.
A key factor will be how it maintains – or even tries to match – the campness of its European inspiration, but it should be interesting to see how seriously it’s taken by both the competitors and Snoop alike.
