Air New Zealand have announced that they will install ‘Skynest’ bunk bed compartments for economy and premium economy passengers.

Launching from 2024, this bureau notes two things.
First is that the four-hour sleeping allotments means that there are going to be a lot of unhappy people woken up just as they get into the best part of sleeping.
Second is that from the above photo it looks like one of the passengers is awake. That just won’t do. While acknowledging that a few moments stretched out on a bed while conscious will be pleasant, there will need to be a rule that they are for sleeping – nothing else.
