Affordable housing is increasingly becoming a major issue for countries. Houses are being treated like banks with a rapidly dwindling number of people being able to experience home ownership.
A possible response to this is housing cooperatives such as the one used in Denmark. Monocle Films had a closer look.
The scheme aims to provide residents with affordable places to live, keeping community spirit strong and cultivating, “samfundssind,” the Danish concept of putting society’s needs ahead of individual interests.
