Chinese firm Zhejiang Henghai Technology is offering an electric submarine for sale on e-commerce site Alibaba.
According to reports, the eight-seat vessel is operated by a crew of two and comes with an acrylic-walled capsule in the middle of the sub, with nine seats. The submarine is equipped with a 60 kWh lithium-ion battery and has a submerged speed of 2 km/h. The vessel can be ordered with two or four 2 kW thrusters and can reach a maximum operational depth of 30 metres. However, the submarine is not cheap, costing $860,000.
