New horror flick, Barbarian is hitting cinemas.
A horror film’s main goal is not to scare the viewer. It’s to subvert the viewers’ expectations. Achieve that, and the film is half way to success.
Barbarian does just that by setting up what might be expected and then taking a hard turn.
Worth a visit.
Apple TV’s releases are coming thick and fast, with Shantaram coming soon.
With the setting and blonde-haired protagonist, this has an Extraction feel to it (which has its own successor).
Shantaram might be worth a watch while waiting for the Extraction sequel.
It’s always a sad day when a cinema closes down, but news of repurposing is of some consolation.
Pleasure Playhouse has curated a season of events at the old Harbour City Cinema in Sydney’s Chinatown. One of the favourites is the Charli XCX night.
It would be better to have the cinema going strong, but at least the cinema is still being used for public events. Perhaps one day, the cinema can make a return.
She-Hulk isn’t quite doing it for this blogger, but still view it to keep up with the lore and the faint hope that some future Marvel releases will be worth watching.
YouTube channel, Screen Crush does a great job explaining everything that’s going on in the MCU.
Any luck they’ll get so good, that watching the actual tv shows and movies won’t be necessary.
