While Australian sporting teams have at times fumbled the ball when it comes to race relations, it’s nice to see the Australian rugby union team’s latest gesture.
The team unveiled a version of the jersey incorporating Indigenous artwork in the numbers on the back. This will be soon followed by one that will bear both the coat of arms and a First Nations design on its uniform for the first time.
Little gestures may seem a token for some, but it can be an important win for indigenous people.
